With No Nonsense Picture Book Critiques you will receive honest picture book critiques for authors by internationally published children’s author, Yvonne Mes.

Your critique will be straight up and detailed. The feedback is never about you as an author, it is about your work. My aim is to assist you in making your story the best it can be, whether you are submitting to an agent or editor or are self-publishing.

Yvonne Mes

Picture book critiques are based on many years of studying, reading and critiquing  picture books. With over two decades’ experience as a qualified early childhood professional Yvonne is passionate in understanding how children engage with story. Yvonne is currently completing her Masters of Arts in Writing and Literature.

As an illustrator she has the added experience how text and illustrations work together in picture books to tell a story.

As the coordinator of Write Links since 2014, Yvonne facilitates and manages face to face critique groups and has worked with many picture book authors.

Yvonne Mes is a member of SCBWI (the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators) ASA (Australian Society of Authors) Book Links (QLD) Inc. IBBY and CBCA(Children’s Book Council Australia) Queensland branch. She is a frequent speaker at schools and writing festivals, writes the occasional review
